Deborah Housen was born in sunny San Diego, CA. She was raised between there, and Chester, CA, a small community located in the Sierra-Nevada mountains. When she turned 30, she found herself living off the land in the Bitterroot Mountains of MT, where she wrote and published, "The Outdoorsman Wild Game Cookbook." After spending a couple of years enduring the harsh homestead lifestyle and the long frigid winter months, she returned to the Sierra-Nevada mountain's to raise her son, Donnie. She currently lives in Taylorsville, CA, with her Russian Blue cat, Dusty Rose, a Black Bombay cat named, Hemingway, and a Calico Tabby named, Emma. Her adult son, Donnie, and his wife, Lacy, also live in the Sierra-Nevada mountains, thriving in music & the arts.

Deborah has worn many hats throughout the years, i.e., a Bank Vice President; a Superior Court Clerk; a Deputy County Clerk-Recorder; a Property Manager; an Innkeeper; and the Owner of two businesses:

 

Writing has always been a passion and an intricate part of Deborah's life. Her work has been published in several commentary articles, advertising inserts and multimedia blurbs, website blog posts, short stories, poems, and more. The Kalali House book series will be her first Contemporary/Historical/Romance/Mystery novels to be published.

 

Deborah is known for her insatiable appetite for music, the arts, philosophy, and for instigating mentally stimulating conversations.

 

Book #1, "Return to Kalali Cove" is expected to launch in 2026.
